Rules for The Shooter's Cup Sporting Clay Events

1. TOURNAMENT WILL BE HELD RAIN OR SHINE. Lightning delays will be announced by tournament director at the event site.

2. NO REFUND OF ANY KIND WILL BE MADE FOR ENTRY FEES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

3. WINNERS MAY BE SUBJECT TO A POLYGRAPH TEST TO BE GIVEN AT THE TOURNAMENT SITE ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT.

4. The Shooter’s Cup is governed by all federal, state, and local laws as well as USAS rules. USAS rules incorporate all ISSF technical rules.

5. This tournament is an individual amateur event. Tournament Committee reserves the right to refuse application of entry, with or without cause, at its sole discretion. Any applicant refused entry shall be entitled to a full refund of their entry fee.

6. Spectators are allowed to observe per individual scorekeeper or tournament official’s direction.

7. No professionals are allowed in this tournament. If a person has acted as a professional in the last 12 months, that person is not eligible. A PROFESSIONAL IS ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN COMPENSATED IN ANY MANNER (BESIDES REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES OR SHARED EXPENSES), FOR INSTRUCTION, IS PAID BY SPONSORS, IS GIVEN DISCOUNTS BY SPONSORS IN PLACE OF OR IN ADDITION TO PAYMENT, OR HAS BEEN COMPENSATED (BESIDES REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES OR SHARED EXPENSES) BY A COMPANY OR SPONSOR AS AN INSTRUCTOR OR SPOKESPERSON.  PRIZES WON AT THIS EVENT OR OTHER AMATEUR EVENTS IN THE PAST DO NOT COUNT TOWARD PROFESSIONAL STATUS. 

8. Any shoulder mounted shotgun that’s in safe working condition, capable of firing two shots, may be used.  Any gauge can be used. ALL GUNS ARE SUBJECT TO INSPECTION BY TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS.

9. Only shells distributed by tournament officials can be used during the tournament.

10. Participant’s must be present to win cash prizes. Participant’s DO NOT have to be present to win raffle items.

11. Hearing and eye protection must be worn at all times while on the course.

12. Shotguns are unloaded and breach visibly open when not on the course.

13.  NO ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION IS ALLOWED DURING TOURNAMENT HOURS. PLEASE NOTE THAT POLYGRAPH RESULTS CAN BE AFFECTED BY THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL. 

14.  Cash prizes are awarded to the top FIVE highest scores. 

15.  Ties will be determined by a shoot-off.  Only cash prize positions will qualify for shoot-off.  Shoot-off procedures will be communicated by tournament officials in the event of a tie.

16.  All unclaimed prize money reverts to The Shooter’s Cup (a division of Grace Roots).

17.  A minor is anyone 17 or younger. Minors are not eligible for cash prizes.

18. ALL DECISIONS MADE BY TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS ARE FINAL.
